How Ultrasonic Aromatherapy Diffusers Work | Pet & Kid Safe

Why Ultrasonic Aromatherapy Diffusers Work

Aromatherapy diffusers are considered to be the safest way to release and disperse fragrance at home for a few reasons. They use water vapor as the fragrance carrier. Water is a natural part of our everyday life, from the amount we drink to stay hydrated & active to the humidity in the air we breathe.

We love this method of releasing aromas -  it's clean, easy to operate, fills a room with scent, and is low maintenance.  Here are a few frequently asked questions about ultrasonic aroma diffusion.

What is an aromatherapy diffuser?

An ultrasonic diffuser vibrates water molecules together, blending them with home fragrance oils to create a mist that is safe to breathe and is released in a measured and controlled way. Our Wood Grain Aromatherapy Diffuser has automatic settings that control the volume of vapor, the speed & timing of release, and features an auto-shut off function that will stop operation after a set time period (or when the water level goes below the minimum amount needed to function.) Because there is no flame and no warming used in the creation of fragrance, there isn't a chance of tip-over or a burn hazard that could create a dangerous situation for pets or children. If an accidental tip-over were to occur, the spill would be a combination of water and oil which is easily cleaned up.

Are ultrasonic diffusers safe to use around children and pets?

Inside each diffuser is a small ceramic disc that vibrates at a high speed when running. The vibrations create ultrasonic waves that break up the water and fragrance into microscopic particles which appear as mist and release aroma into the air. Because there is no heat involved, an electric fragrance diffuser is considered safe to use around kids and pets. Ours features an auto shut off that will stop at times you set, or when the water runs out. It also has variable speed control and is ultra quiet when running.

Can I use your diffuser with essential oils?

Our ACDC ultrasonic aroma diffuser is designed for use with both essential oils and home fragrance oils. Its made from BPA-free plastics and features variable speed flow, auto shut off and super quiet operation. The 200ml / 6.75 fl oz capacity tank is not only easy to fill, but easy to clean.

How do you clean a fragrance diffuser?

Simply unplug the diffuser from the power cord, empty the basin, then clean with regular tap water. Without immersing in water, rinse and empty the basin a few times, then wipe both interior and exterior dry with a paper or cloth towel. We do not recommend the use of soap as it could build up in the basin and cause impurities when running. Watch how easy it is to clean and operate.

Which is better - reed diffusers or ultrasonic diffusers?

There is really no comparison! Reed diffusers use thick fragrance oils diluted with chemicals to draw fragrance up porous natural reeds. In time, the reeds get clogged and have to be flipped to continue to release scents. This is messy and the bottles and reeds get sticky over time, as the aromas get less and less potent.

Ultrasonic diffusers are constantly blending and releasing fragrances. They use a fraction of the fragrance oils compared to reeds and project the fragrance into the air in the form of water vapor which means that the scent gets loud quickly! They are low-mess and easy to clean. And ours is made from BPA-free plastic which doesn't release chemicals when used.

This new technology is amazing and we think its a great way to safely enjoy fragrances at home. Check out our collection of over 30 home fragrance oils and pure essential oils, all made to diffuse ultrasonically.
