As the Greek goddess of the rainbow and a messenger for Zeus and Hera, Iris is undoubtedly the namesake of the lovely crenulated flower. Iris carried messages from heaven to earth on the arc of the rainbow, and her flower commonly means wisdom, hope, trust, and valor. The blossom shape inspired the fleur-de-lis, a decorative symbol used by French royalty. Some believe the triple petals represent the three social orders: nobility, clergy, and peasants.
The iris blossom has a subtle and unique aroma - a little earthy, a little fresh and watery, a little powdery. Some say it has hints of rose and white flowers. We think it has a greenery scent. However you interpret it, there's an unmistakable fragrance. In our No. 50 Iris Jasmine, we mix it with soft floral notes of jasmine, African violet and honeysuckle, creating a gentle and elegant aroma, used in our scented soy candles, air-freshening room sprays and ultrasonic diffuser oils.
It's hard not to love it. We craft each item with heart and carefully package them in our beautiful bottles and boxes, ready to gift.
